Description for Internal Candidates

  • Assisting and executing site-based injury and illness prevention programs with all ABM employees onsite.
  • Demonstrate a visible leadership commitment to safety to every employee every day.
  • Conduct and help implement programs to ensure that on-site risk assessments are conducted and monitored to identify potential hazards to our employees, clients the public and environment (SWOP).
  • Communicate and follow-up to ensure identified issues are addressed.
  • Help design and implement controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Establish/enforce policy, provide perspective, get expectations, and provide resources to the on-site team to sustain successful operations.
  • Help conduct behavior-based safety observations and train other employees and managers in this skill to ensure that safety and operations integrity is demonstrated every day.
  • Responsible for helping develop, implement and evaluate site safety efforts that effectively communicate and support company policies in a consistent and global manner with a key focus on incident prevention and loss abatement.
  • Help create and execute safe work techniques, effective safety methods and processes, evaluating performance management, training, and regulatory compliance.
  • Driving the evolution of the organization’s safety culture by ensuring that all business strategies and safety initiatives align with the organizations vision, mission and goals of ABM and our client.
  • Help Lead regularly scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and meetings to determine the effectiveness of accident prevention activities, and to ensure branch and job site compliance with all applicable Divisional safety directives.
  • Maintaining knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local and possess the ability to evaluate, document, and report on compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure operational compliance.
  • Help develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive safety training program to address new employee orientation, on-going training, specialty training, etc. A specific focus will involve the design of behavior-based / cultural change training reinforcing safety as a core value of the staff assigned to the account.
  • Assist in directing the site safety coordinator program to ensure that the site safety coordinators are trained and equipped to perform their safety-related functions at the site.
  • Coordinate and monitor the site based safety committees and other safety-related support groups.
  • Manage the site safety incentive programs established for the site.
  • Report as directed to the Regional Safety Director the monthly and/or quarterly safety-related KPI reports.
  • Responsible for leading all site safety investigative reviews and developing cause maps to address the root cause of the incidents and ensuring that action plans are developed as needed and that timelines goals are accomplished. Incident forms and Case Claims can be used to support these action items.

Qualifications:

  • Perform other duties as assigned & can be modified at any time.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 or more years of experience with Industrial Safety(Semiconductor, Solar, Oil and Gas)
  • Experience with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-Task Palnning (PTP), and job inspections
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required
  • Hazmat HazWOPER experience.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, time management, inventory control, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or other email software).
  • Associates degree (preferred).
  • 1-2 years experience in warehouse environment (preferred).
  • 2-3 years of Technical writing experience (preferred).
