Travero has an outstanding opportunity to join our team as a Strategy & Research Analyst!Responsible for bringing Travero’s strategic vision to life through a process of identifying and researching relevant trends to predict and study possible futures. Leads and executes research to support and develop Travero’s business strategy. Responsible for contributing to our strategic perspective by leveraging external research as well as internal information and data. This role helps shape the questions to be asked and answered, gathers the information and synthesizes the insights and implications.

  • This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Stoughton WI office with a flexible schedule. The successful candidate must reside in Wisconsin.
  • Some travel required, primarily between offices in Iowa and Wisconsin (up to 15%)

Job Responsibilities

Primary Accountabilities

  • Monitors trends, developments and advancements in strategic focus areas for Travero, such as Supply Chain Logistics, Sustainability & Decarbonization, target customer industries, the business impact of technology and advancements and other areas defined by Travero’s corporate strategy.
  • Assists with planning, designing and implementing research efforts to support strategic initiatives.
  • Conducts primary and secondary research and/or data collection.
  • Analyzes and interprets research and data to reach meaningful conclusions and recommendations to contribute to clearly written and concise reports, memos, presentations and briefs.
  • Synthesizes research and data over time to help articulate and maintain Travero’s strategy perspective around our industry, markets, external forces and competitive positioning in the form of trend decks or other communication methods.
  • Assists with research, business analysis and strategic thinking around new business opportunities.
  • Works closely with Travero leadership, strategy, business development and marketing and participates on cross-functional teams.
  • In addition to ongoing research and analysis, this role may lead and/or participate in specific initiatives related to strategy development, business planning, business development or customer experience.

Preferred Education

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing/Market Research statistics or related area.

Required Experience

  • 5 years of related professional experience in research, business development or related areas.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience utilizing research in conjunction with an applied purpose such as business development, product development or customer experience.
  • Experience leading or executing end to end research project.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to structure larger concepts into actionable components or questions.
  • Collaborative skills: They must be able to work with cross-functional teams and have the maturity to interact directly with senior leaders across departments.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting more complex research requests using experience and knowledge to synthesize information, draw hypothetical conclusions, and make educated predictions about trends or competitor behaviors.
  • Demonstrated experience writing research reports and communicating or presenting research findings.
  • Intellectually curious with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas to solve business problems or identify business opportunities.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities to draw sound conclusions from information and various data sources. Ability to separate relevant information from less vital information with respect to solving a particular business problem.
  • Ability to analyze information objectively, apply logical thought and offer ideas or solutions, taking a long-term perspective.
  • Strong quantitative and financial modeling skill set.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management.
